Belavia Launches Direct Flights To India: Price Is Shocking

The first flight took place on Friday.

For the first time, Belavia launched direct flights to India with a regular flight from Minsk to Delhi. On Friday, August 11, the first flight took place, the press service of the national air carrier reports.

For now, flights from Minsk will be conducted weekly, on Fridays. Flight time is about seven hours:

departure from Minsk at 20:25, arrival in Delhi at 05:35 local time;

return flight from Delhi at 06:55 with arrival in Minsk at 11:40.

From September 20, it is planned to add one more flight — on Wednesdays to Delhi, and on Thursdays back.

A one-way ticket will cost from 319 euros, return — from 569 euros (SMART fare, with luggage). For comparison, a ticket for a direct Aeroflot flight from Moscow to Delhi costs half as much — about 160 euros.

“A direct scheduled flight to Delhi is a truly historic event for us. […] I am sure this flight will help increase transit traffic through Minsk National Airport. The flight will be in demand among tourists and students who study in the Republic of Belarus,” says Igor Cherginets, General Director of the airline.

As General Director of Minsk National Airport Viachaslau Kharaneka noted, this flight will allow Belarusians to expand the geography of flights through the Delhi airport due to connections to the countries of North America, Western Europe, as well as the Far East and Southeast Asia.

Belarusians need a visa to enter India. You can get it online for 30 days, 1 year or 5 years. The application must be submitted no later than 4 days before departure on the website indianvisaonline.gov.in — you just need to pay for a visa, fill out an application form and attach a personal photo and a scan of your passport.
