Big Intrigue: What Does Ukrainian Daring Raid In Kozachi Laheri Mean?

Not just a whole platoon of the Russian Federation, led by a major, was brought into captivity.

Former company commander of the Aidar battalion Yevhen Dykyy, in an interview with Radio NV, commented on the successful raid of the Ukrainian military near the Kozachi Laheri on the left bank of the Dnipro in the Kherson region.

On the air of Radio NV, Dykyy noted that several dozen fighters took part in the raid near the Cossack Camps at once.

“Usually small groups of up to 10 people conduct a raid. They blow up something in the rear, do not allow them to feel absolutely calm there, and interrupt their rear logistics. And this has been done, by the way, from the moment we liberated Kherson. Starting from November, even in winter, this continued all the time. And as soon as it warmed up in the spring, it became massive. Our sabotage and reconnaissance groups constantly land there, walk around their rear. There, in fact, somewhere 15-20 kilometers from the banks of the Dnipro. There is a sort of a gray zone there, which is not completely controlled by Russian troops,” said the ex-commander of the battalion company Aidar.

At the same time, according to him, the Ukrainian military cannot gain a foothold and equip positions in this gray zone.

“Actually, there was a big intrigue whether Kozachi Laheri was another attempt to make a permanent foothold and expand it further, or a raid. It turned out that this was a raid, just a raid powerful enough, bright enough. They didn’t even just take trophies with them to the right bank, but they brought a whole unit of prisoners with them to the right bank. That is, in fact, we are demonstrating who actually owns the entire floodplain of the Dnipro. But so far this story is not strategic. So far, it’s still tactical,” said Dykyy.

He clarified that the Ukrainian military brought “a whole platoon led by a whole major” into captivity and destroyed even more invaders.

Earlier, the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported that Ukrainian troops managed to land troops near the village of Kozachi Laheri on the occupied left bank of the Kherson region, taking advantage of the weakening of Russian defenses in the area.

ISW analysts drew attention to reports by several Russian military correspondents dated August 8, according to which Ukrainian forces landed seven boats, each carrying about six to seven people, on the eastern bank of the Dnipro near the village of Kozachi Laheri. Then the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine allegedly broke through the Russian defenses and advanced 800 meters deep.

“The Armed Forces of Ukraine seem to have made a limited raid across the Dnipro and landed on the occupied eastern (left) bank of the Kherson region, although it remains unclear whether Ukrainian troops managed to establish a long-term presence in this area,” they noted.
