Media: Russian Troops Fled From Urozhaine Under Pressure Of Ukrainian Forces

The settlement came under the control of the Ukrainian army.

The village of Urozhaine (Vremevsky ledge, Southern Front) is believed to have returned to the control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

The Vostok Battalion of the Russian Armed Forces, which holds the Russian front in this sector, published the following statement on its channel on the evening of August 12: "The enemy outplayed us - we are losing Urozhaine."

The occupiers reported the defence “failure” and forced retreat of the battalion to the rear.

The Russian military Egor Gouzenko, with the call sign "Thirteenth", wrote a couple of hours later that the Ukrainian army captured the village.

“Urozhaine was successfully lost, just like Staromayorske. Well, in general, this was expected, but the commander of the 58th Army, Gen. Popov, was removed from his post and exiled to Syria,” the occupier wrote.

He furiously attacked the Kremlin propaganda, which lied about the real situation on this sector of the front.

Guzenko also confirmed that during the failed attempts to hold both Staromayorske and Urozhaine, the Russian army suffered heavy losses.

Z-propagandist Romanov also confirmed the information.

“Urozhaine, Volnovaka district… The settlement came under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine… It was held “against all odds” for 11 days,” he wrote.

It should be noted that, according to experts, Urozhayne is of strategic importance in the Russian defence of the Southern Front.

This position is one of the most promising in the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, they can launch the main breakthrough from there.
