Details of the retaliatory operation have emerged.
According to Israel's Channel 12, the first wave of Israeli airstrikes on Iranian territory targeted missile production and air defense facilities.
This was reported by The Times of Israel.
All three main Israeli television channels reported a second wave of Israeli strikes on Iran. Channel 12 cites reports from non-state media in Iran that the targets of the Israeli strikes are in eastern Tehran and at the command post of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Local media reported that four more explosions were heard in eastern Tehran and that "air defense systems are still active" in the capital.
US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin held a telephone conversation with his Israeli counterpart Yoav Gallant, a US Defense Department spokesman said. The US official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, did not disclose details of the conversation.
Recall that on Saturday, October 26, Israel struck targets in Iran in response to a massive ballistic missile attack against Israel in early October. A series of explosions were reported in Tehran and other cities. The IDF officially confirmed the information about the attack, stating that precision strikes were being carried out on Iranian military targets.
Iran and Iraq closed their airspace.
