The Russians have taken a desperate step.
Demotivation is not a new phenomenon for the Russian army. However, we are not talking about its mass character yet. The enemy knows how to fight it, knows that an army of slaves requires a constant whip. This opinion was expressed on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel by military expert, participant in peacekeeping missions in Kosovo and Iraq Sergei Grabsky.
“You can find information about the demotivation of certain groups of servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces, in particular, in the southern direction of the front, who refused to go on the offensive. Demotivation is, in general, an old disease of the Soviet, Russian army, which they have learned to fight with mass repressions and terror. And therefore, I would not hope that demotivation will become mass yet,” the expert noted.
At the same time, he believes, it is necessary to work to make demotivation and desertion in the enemy army a mass phenomenon.
“We must work to make it a mass phenomenon. That is, by destroying and demonstrating the destroyed enemy, influencing the morale of the enemy with information and psychological operations. But we must understand that the enemy also knows how to fight this. They know that an army of slaves requires a constant whip. They know that it is necessary to prevent the consolidation of people who are united by some common goal, for example, religion, some kind of regional community or belonging to the same nation, nationality. Therefore, the Russian army, as the successor to the Soviet one, knows how to operate such troops,” Grabsky emphasized.
He noted that Russian servicemen express their dissatisfaction or try to avoid assault actions. But this does not mean that we can count on the ubiquity of such a phenomenon. Russian soldiers will still be driven to assaults.
“Studying some documents, including intercepted materials, I discovered that, it turns out, the unit or company commander appoints people who will stand in the barrier detachment, in his own unit. If earlier we talked about, say, “Kadyrovites” standing in the barrier detachments and not allowing the troops to retreat, then here it is something that goes beyond human understanding, military brotherhood and interaction. That is, today someone can be appointed to the barrier detachment, and tomorrow this someone ends up in the ranks of the stormtroopers. And those who stormed yesterday will shoot him in the back if he retreats. This is nonsense, but this is the situation that we see today,” the military expert summed up.
