U.S. Senators Demanded That Trump Cancel The Diesel Deal With Russia

They also called on the U.S. president to enact the Graham Act on “hellish sanctions.”

Twelve U.S. senators sent a letter to U.S. President Donald Trump urging him to cancel the diesel deal with Russia. Senator Richard Blumenthal reported this on the social media platform X.

“I will lead my colleagues in demanding that the president cancel the disastrous Russian diesel deal. Appeasement encourages Putin to ignore serious peace talks, and the failure on the diesel issue demonstrates utter weakness,” he said.

The letter published by Blumenthal is signed by 12 senators representing both the Democratic and Republican parties in the U.S.

In the document, the senators also called on Trump to impose sanctions against Russia as provided for in the Lindsey Graham Act, which was passed in September.
