Another Macron's Brilliant Move

Another Macron's Brilliant Move
EMMANUEL MACRON

These shots will go down in history.

These expressive shots will preserve for posterity two fatal moments in the history of the 21st century. The triumphant Chekist trickster in a session of geopolitical magic turns the penultimate and last Emperors of modern Rome into dust one after another. On stage in Helsinki in 2018 and then in Geneva in 2021, a couple of statesmen appeared to the city and the world – the same slender person and two big gentlemen. When looking at them, none of the tens of millions of viewers had any doubts about who was the dominant male in these couples, and who experienced a deep psychological dependence on the partner.

Throughout the second half of the 20th century, there was a person in the Oval Office of the White House who was perceived by the whole world and, more importantly, by himself as the leader of the West and the leader of the Free World. With all the conventionality and blurring of these categories.

This symbolic chair in the White House has been empty for at least twelve years.

Neither Obama nor Trump did not feel themselves the leaders of the West or the Free World at all. They both had a deep ideological commitment to the US withdrawal from world politics.

The left-winger Obama absorbed the conviction of the US guilt before the "oppressed peoples of the world" with his mother's milk (literally and figuratively). He bowed deeply and apologized for the "crimes of American imperialism" to the Arab peoples, to the Vietnamese people and further on the list.

Trump, on the contrary, from the opposite extreme right, blamed the whole world and, above all, their Western allies for “leeching off the U.S.”. Sweet music for the Kremlin was its crushing criticism of NATO and especially Article 5 of its Agreement.

The mole of history, apparently, chose these two very different characters to maximize the trend of U.S. withdrawal from world history.

All the rhetoric of the election campaign and the first months of Biden's presidency was based on the idea of overcoming this twelve-year trend: I've come back! America is back!

He really saw himself as the leader of the West and the Free World. Very sensitively, I would even say, not without self-admiration, Biden shared this feeling on July 21, 2021 in a public Town Hall speech:

"It's the first time I ever felt like – you always hear say "leader of the Free World". Well, I realize, when I'm sitting across from Putin, who I know, he knows who I am; I know who he is. He knows I mean what I say and can do what I say. He understands. And we must be the leader of the free world. If we don't do it, nobody good is likely to do it or has the capacity to do it. I really mean it. I genuinely mean it.”

Read this short text carefully or better yet – watch it on YouTube. It's a dramatic human document. Biden is more of a simple-minded person than a cunning and treacherous one. He's not a hypocrite. On the contrary, he speaks quite sincerely, deeply excited by the new dizzying sensation he experienced on June 16:

I AM THE LEADER OF THE FREE WORLD. I'm sitting across from Putin himself, and he knows who I am. And he knows that I mean what I say and can do what I say. He understands.

Yes, Putin's mocking expression immediately after the meeting confirms that he really perfectly understands who Mr Biden is and what Mr Biden can do. In particular, he knows that in half an hour at his press conference, Biden will somnambulistically repeat a phrase extremely important for Putin about the lack of alternatives to the Minsk agreements. Moreover, Putin understands that he "got exactly what he wanted from Biden in Geneva."

This was the assessment of most American experts and commentators. Biden failed his first casting for the role of leader of the Free World, which he took so seriously.

It was in Geneva that, after weighing the "leader of the free world" and finding it very easy, Putin established his idea of a final solution to the Ukrainian issue.

Almost three years have passed since then. Hundreds of thousands of people have already died in the bloodiest war on the European continent since 1945. Biden sometimes reads some very correct words from the prompter or from the cardboard squares prepared for him. As, for example, in his address to the nation on October 20, 2024:

"Hamas and Putin present different threats, but they share this in common: They both want to completely annihilate a neighboring democracy – completely annihilate it.If we don't stop Putin's appetite for power and control in Ukraine, he won't limit himself just to Ukraine."

But the bill to provide military assistance to Ukraine has been blocked in the House of Representatives by Republicans for six months at the insistence of Trump. And the Biden Office, in this most difficult hour for Ukraine's bleeding, is sending its top official to Kyiv to... prohibit Ukrainians from striking Russian refineries with drones.

More hell, more fuel for the Russian military machine for completely annihilating Ukraine. It turns out that Grandpa Biden needs this for pre-election reasons (he is afraid of a possible increase in gasoline prices in the United States).

The politicians of the United States have demonstrated the general inability of this state to fulfill the role of the Leader of the Free World in the world war unleashed against Western civilization by the forces of absolute evil.

In this war, it is impossible to win by endlessly drawing the red lines of self-restraint in front of you with trembling hands. Emmanuel Macron talked about the rejection of the notorious red lines and the need to defeat Russia. He agreed with Biden that Putin won't limit himself just to Ukraine. But that is why, Macron believes, the West (Coalition of Willing) must defeat Russia in Ukraine in alliance with the heroically fighting Ukrainian army, the only one today fulfilling the mission for which the North Atlantic Alliance was created exactly 75 years ago. Macron presciently diagnosed the death of its brain 5 years ago.

The French military are already involved in hostilities in Ukraine – the President of France considered it necessary to emphasize. And in response to Putin's standard nuclear blackmail, he immediately reminded the war criminal that France also has nuclear weapons.

France made a very serious application for the vacancy of the Leader of the Free World, which was vacant in the fateful minutes of History.

And here's today's news! That was another Macron's brilliant political move. He offered Great Britain to share with France the burden of leadership of the Free World. The Foreign Ministers of France (Stéphane Séjourné) and Great Britain (David Cameron) made a joint historic statement – "The world is safer for a renewed Entente":

"We are both absolutely clear: Ukraine must win this war. If Ukraine loses, we all lose. The costs of failing to support Ukraine now will be far greater than the costs of repelling Putin.

Britain and France are proud of the support we have provided to Ukraine, from unprecedented sanctions to co-ordinated deliveries of the first long-range missile systems, Scalp and Storm Shadow. Just last month, the first Ukrainian pilots graduated from training with the Royal Air Force to start training with the Armée de l'air et de l 'espace, as part of a program to build up Ukraine's ability to fly modern F-16 fighter jets.

But we must do even more to ensure we defeat Russia. The world is watching – and will judge us if we fail.”
