Residents of the Brest region have begun to prepare for the entry of armed groups from abroad.
In the Brest region, the "Stolin-2024" exercises were held under the leadership of the Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Kubrakou, the purpose of which was "to suppress the activities of illegal armed groups." According to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the plan for the event was drawn up "taking into account the situation in the Kursk region," and the main thing was "to ensure the safety of the population" in order to "prevent militants from breaking through into populated areas," Telegraf reports.
Ivan Kubrakou emphasized that during the exercises, not only were personnel and special equipment trained, but "work was also carried out with the population." The fighters practiced actions to combat sabotage groups in several locations: both on the approaches to the city and within its boundaries.
“It is important to prepare the population for a possible invasion by armed groups from the territory of neighboring states by working out mechanisms for coordinating all services,” added the chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee, Petr Parkhomchyk.
