Zelensky Trolled Putin Before The Parade In Moscow

The President of Ukraine issued a special decree.

President Vladimir Zelensky confirmed US President Donald Trump's statement about Ukraine's truce with Russia from May 9 to 11.

The corresponding message was published on May 8 in the official Telegram channel.

"In recent days, there have been many appeals and signals regarding what tomorrow will look like in Moscow in connection with our Ukrainian sanctions against truckers. The principle of mirroring in our actions is well known and has been brought to the attention of the Russian side. An additional argument for Ukraine in determining our position is always the resolution of one of the key humanitarian issues of this war, namely the release of prisoners of war. Red Square is less important to us than the lives of Ukrainian prisoners who can be returned home," the Ukrainian head of state said.

The Ukrainian president said that thanks to US mediation, in addition to the ceasefire, a new prisoner exchange was also agreed with the Kremlin.

"That is why today, as part of the negotiation process mediated by the US side, we received Russia's consent to conduct a prisoner-of-war exchange in the format of 1,000 for 1,000. A silence regime should also be established on May 9, 10 and 11. Ukraine is consistently working on the return of its people from Russian captivity. Instructed our team to promptly prepare everything necessary for the exchange," he summarized.

President Trump earlier in his Truth Social announced a three-day ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia - from May 9 to 11.

"I am pleased to announce that there will be a three-day ceasefire (May 9, 10, and 11) in the war between Russia and Ukraine," the White House head said.

In particular, he noted that in Russia the celebration is "timed to coincide with Victory Day" - and added that Ukraine was also "an important part and factor in World War II."

"This cease-fire will include a cessation of all hostilities, as well as a prisoner exchange - 1,000 people from each country. This request was made directly by me, and I very much appreciate the agreement of Putin and President Zelensky," the White House chief said.

In addition, President Trump expressed hope that this is "the beginning of the end of a very long, deadly and difficult war."
