Lukashenko will not be in the capital either.
On Friday, July 3, Belarus will celebrate its so-called Independence Day. The program includes a festive concert at the monument and fireworks. However, there will be no traditional parade on Pobediteley Avenue.
“The parade is held only on anniversary dates; a large concert will take place at the monument on July 3,” said “Zerkalo” a representative of the Minsk City Executive Committee. “Admission is free.
The official did not specify whether Lukashenko would attend the concert.
It should be noted that the dictator is currently on a “long business trip”. Immediately after two days of talks with Vladimir Putin in Russia, Lukashenko left on an extended business trip to countries in East and Southeast Asia. On Monday, June 29, he met with the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping. Indonesia is also on his itinerary. It is unclear whether the politician will be able to return in time for Independence Day.
