Why Did Lukashenka Start Talking About The Hague?

The political scientist analyzed the main fears of the dictator.

Yesterday, Lukashenka shown all of his fears. One of the main ones is The Hague. The dictator assures that the International Criminal Court wants to issue a warrant for his arrest so that he allegedly "does not participate in peace negotiations on Ukraine."

Why did Lukashenka start talking about The Hague? Charter97.org spoke to Ukrainian political scientist and writer Volodymyr Tsybulk about this:

— There is already a ready-made plot, in this regard, it is worth noting the consistency of the International Criminal Court in the case of the abduction of Ukrainian children. A similar warrant has already been issued against Putin, and the Belarusian authorities, as far as I know, were involved in these crimes. In terms of the development of the case of the abduction of Ukrainian children, it is logical to issue a warrant for Lukashenka.

Lukashenka understands that his power will end exactly a minute after the fall of Putin's power. Therefore, he reminds him in such a way that they are in one bundle, and Putin, as already a figurant of The Hague, should be a consistent ally of Lukashenka. Most likely, we are talking about financial blackmail, Lukashenka needs money, he will soon "pull Putin" for additional funds, military orders or something else.

The second point is that Lukashenka is trying to emphasize that he can become a figurant of the International Criminal Court, so Putin should not try to draw him into a wider circle of responsibility for their atrocities.

— Another fear that he voiced, allegedly the next point of escalation will be Belarus. Allegedly, Ukraine will be responsible for the fact that Russian drones fly through Belarusian territory. Why is he talking about this?

— The emphasis on drones flying into Ukraine from Belarus, the right of Ukraine to strike back, is very important. Belarusian oil products are now being supplied to the Russian troops. All this is due to the fact that part of the oil refineries in the European part of Russia has been cut off. Therefore, Ukraine can safely hit the Belarusian oil refining.

Lukashenka understands perfectly well what will happen if Ukraine puts oil refining in Belarus, he earns money on the Russian army with its help. Lukashenka is afraid, because he has already made Belarus an accomplice in the war by providing his territory for an attack on Ukraine. And Russian drones that fly through Belarus are another reason for Lukashenka to demand money from Putin.
