A1 Operator Starts Charging Belarusians For Free Service

A decent amount can accumulate over the course of a year.

Subscribers of the A1 mobile operator are complaining again — more money has started to “leak” from their accounts in the summer.

“They’ve already managed to write off Br8 in two months,” a Belarusian told the Onliner portal.

We sorted out the situation: the trick concerns users who receive invoices for services rendered by email. And there are two formats: PDF and XLS. The latter was previously sent free of charge, but since June 1, A1 has been charging as much as Br4 for “Account Conversion”.

It’s worth noting that the service is not connected by default. But you could have subscribed to it yourself when concluding an agreement with the company.

“Every month, we topped up the accounts of three family members with an amount corresponding to the tariff (subscription fee). In the summer, the amount was no longer enough. We found this strange, since we always kept within the limits stipulated by the tariff,” the subscribers share.

The issue turned out to be in the mailing list, for which you now also have to pay.

You can disable the A1 service, but it will take certain effort. And a mobile application will not do here. To stop receiving an invoice in XLS, you need to remember the password for your personal cabinet in the browser.

A1 commented on the situation for the portal:

“Most clients prefer to receive an invoice to their e-mail in PDF format (the service is provided free of charge). At the same time, for an additional fee, the client can use the service of converting the invoice being sent to EXL format, as well as choose the method of invoice delivery — in paper form by mail.”
