Trump Had A 'long' Phone Conversation With Putin

The US president called the Russian dictator before meeting with Zelensky.

The phone conversation between US President Donald Trump and the Russian dictator has ended.

The US president said he will meet Putin in Budapest "to see if we can put an end to 'this inglorious war between Russia and Ukraine'." He wrote about it in Truth Social.

Before that, Putin and Trump's advisers will meet, the US delegation will be led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The location of their meeting has not yet been determined.

"Tomorrow I will meet with [Ukrainian President Vladimir] Zelensky in the Oval Office, where we will discuss my conversation with President Putin and much more. I believe that today's phone conversation made significant progress," Trump added.

On Thursday evening, Trump announced on Truth Social that he had begun a "long" phone conversation with Putin.

The conversation between the two politicians took place ahead of Trump's third meeting with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.

It was previously reported that Zelensky's administration had prepared a series of proposals to Washington that would encourage Trump to supply Ukraine with air defense missiles and long-range rockets.
