Hollywood stars have reconciled after years of feuding.
Hollywood stars Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger, who competed for decades for the title of top action star, have now become good friends. The 80-year-old Stallone spoke about this at an event dedicated to the series “King of Tulsa,” reports People (translation by Charter97.org).
The actor compared his relationship with Schwarzenegger to the rivalry between the show’s characters, who don’t fully trust each other but are sometimes forced to work together.
“We’re good friends now. We’ve calmed down. But when two people compete, it sometimes helps them become better,” Stallone admitted.
The public first learned of the feud between the actors back in 1977, when both were vying for recognition in Hollywood. Later, they exchanged barbs, criticized each other’s films, and tried to outmaneuver their rival when choosing roles. In the 1990s, by the stars’ own admissions, they genuinely disliked each other.
Gradually, their relationship changed. One of the turning points was a proposal to collaborate on the creation of the “Planet Hollywood” restaurant chain. Schwarzenegger recalled that he saw this opportunity as a chance to mend their relationship.
Later, the actors starred together in several films in the “The Expendables” franchise and the action movie “Escape Plan.”
In 2025, Schwarzenegger admitted that they used to “say nasty things about each other and do unpleasant things.” Now, it seems, their long-standing rivalry is a thing of the past.
