Whitcoff And The Chinese Premier Happened To Be In St. Petersburg At The Same Time Amid Talks On Ukraine

U.S. President’s Special Envoy Steve Whitcoff and Chinese State Council Premier Li Qiang are expected to be in St. Petersburg at the same time on October 21.

Meanwhile, Washington will continue discussions with Moscow on ending the war in Ukraine, according to “Agency”.

Whitcoff intends to convey proposals from the U.S. , Ukraine, and European countries to the Russian leadership, while Li Qiang will hold talks with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

Chinese Premier Li Qiang arrived in St. Petersburg to participate in the 31st regular meeting of the heads of government of Russia and China. His visit will last until October 22.

Shortly before that, Donald Trump stated his readiness to participate in a possible trilateral meeting with Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

As part of such a hypothetical summit, the Kremlin dictator plans to promote the idea of a “new Yalta.” Meanwhile, the U.S. president expressed a preference for discussing nuclear weapons and disarmament at the summit, rather than focusing solely on the war in Ukraine.
