Trump Refused To Wish Putin A Happy Birthday

The promised call never came.

U.S. President Donald Trump did not congratulate Russian dictator Vladimir Putin on his birthday, and no phone call between the leaders took place on October 7. This was stated by Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov, according to the Russian propaganda agency TASS.

The day before, Trump told reporters that he planned to call Putin on October 7, his birthday.

“I have a call scheduled for today. Today is Putin’s birthday. I’m sure you’ll be celebrating it,” Trump said.

According to Peskov, Putin has not received a congratulatory telegram from the American leader. At the same time, the Kremlin maintains that preparations for a possible phone call are ongoing.

“There are no delays in coordinating the call between Putin and Trump,” Peskov stated.

The specific date and time of the talks between the Kremlin and White House leaders have not yet been determined.
