Hundreds of people have already died in the new confrontation.
Pakistan has resumed an operation in Afghanistan that has killed hundreds of people, ending a temporary ceasefire put in place to celebrate the Muslim holiday of Eid.
It was reported by Blooomberg.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Tahir Andrabi said the operation against Afghanistan will continue until the objectives are achieved, he told a weekly briefing in Islamabad on Thursday.
It is learnt that Pakistan has asked the Taliban government to stop militants carrying out attacks and planning them from Afghanistan.
The clashes, which began about a month ago, were halted from March 19 to 24 at the request of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey. The pause came after deadly Pakistani airstrikes in Kabul on a medical facility that killed 400 people, sparking global alarm and calls for a ceasefire. Pakistan denies the claim and said it attacked the militants' storage facility.
Why clashes between Afghanistan and Pakistan are escalating
According to the Associated Press, Afghan Taliban officials said fighting along the border resumed Wednesday after a cease-fire expired, leaving two people dead and others wounded.
Pakistan declared "open war" on Afghanistan in February and has since struck military and other targets deep inside the country. Pakistan has attacked 81 sites and killed more than 700 people.
