The deceived are sent into assault squads.
Russian recruiters are increasingly using manipulative schemes and fake vacancies, promising men a safe job on the home front.
The popular baits even include vacancies for mechanics to work in Belarus. They describe the advantages of service in the so-called union state: "stable environment, developed infrastructure, proximity to home". At the same time, the same ad says that the place of service will be "new territories" of Russia, writes Telegram channel "We can explain".
Salary - from 240 thousand Russian rubles (more than 3000 dollars) per month plus million-dollar bonuses for signing a contract. Often such offers are addressed to people with chronic diseases or criminal records, who are promised veteran status and debt relief.
Lawyers warn, however, that such promises are a deliberate deception. According to Russian law, a person signs a contract not for a specific position, but for military service in general. This allows the command at any time without the consent of the recruit to transfer him or her to any unit on a need-to-know basis.
Factually, after arriving in a combat zone, almost all "rear-guards" go directly to the assault units.
There is no legal possibility to terminate the contract or hold recruiters liable for false promises, because any verbal agreements during recruitment have no effect before the status of a serviceman during mobilization.
