Air travel from the Russian capital has come to a standstill.
On June 21 and during the night of June 22, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces inflicted damage on Russian targets, according to a statement from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The statement indicates that the strike targeted the “Dubna” space communications center in the Moscow region.
The Ukrainian military claims that the strike resulted in extensive smoke.
During the night and morning of June 22, Russian authorities reported a new drone attack on Moscow, with explosions heard. The mayor of the Russian capital Sergei Sobyanin claimed that Russian air defense forces “shot down” about 80 drones flying toward the Russian capital. At Moscow’s airports, 367 flights were canceled or rescheduled.
As a reminder, the historic attack on Moscow took place on Thursday, June 18. On that day, the Moscow Oil Refinery in the Kapotnya district was struck, causing Russians to report fires and widespread smoke.
