"Minsk-Mir" Was Flooded

Water was pouring from the ceiling into the entrance hall.

The heavy downpour that hit Minsk on July 11 led to widespread street flooding and serious traffic problems in the city. According to residents’ posts on social media, the “Minsk-Mir” residential complex was hit the hardest: there, water not only flooded courtyards and roads but also seeped into the entryways of new buildings.

After the storm, residents of the complex began posting videos of the aftermath of the downpour on social media. In one of the videos posted on Threads, water can be seen pouring in a strong stream from the ceiling into the entrance hall. The water pours through light fixtures and utility openings, flooding the space.

“How is it possible that new buildings are constructed like this?” reads the comment by the video’s author.

Users reacted to the situation with irony in the comments, recalling the “elite” housing status often attributed to the complex.

Another video posted on Threads shows the situation on the complex’s streets after the rain. Cars were partially flooded, and the roadway had turned into veritable streams of water.
