The Secretary of the Belarusian Security Council urged Belarusians to refrain from traveling to Russia.
Belarusians should refrain from traveling to Russia’s border regions. This was stated by the State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Alexander Volfovich, according to a correspondent for the “Minsk-Novosti” news agency.
“On Russian territory such terrorist attacks and strikes, unfortunately, occur constantly. The Bryansk region is probably among the main regions targeted by Ukrainian drones,” said A. Volfovich.
According to the Secretary of the Security Council, a downed drone exploded near the bus. He described the incident as a tragic situation.
Volfovich emphasized that this was not an organized trip, but rather tourists traveling of their own accord. He noted that the agency had warned citizens about the risks of traveling to border regions:
— As long as the special military operation or the conflict in Ukraine continues, such incidents will occur. They happen every day to Russian citizens and to anyone traveling through Russian territory and border regions. Therefore, Belarusians—our citizens—should refrain from such trips today.
According to Aol'fovich, despite friendly and close relations with the Russian people, the current situation poses a threat to the lives of Belarusians.
— There is no need to travel today and put yourself and your loved ones at risk. Until the conflict ends, no one—neither we nor the Russian authorities—can guarantee any kind of safety. This must all be kept in mind by the people themselves. Everyone must take responsibility for themselves and, above all, for their families,” concluded A. Volfovich.
