The President of Ukraine announced that a meeting would take place “very soon.”
The Ukrainian president held his first conversation with Britain’s new prime minister Andy Bernam.
This was reported by Charter97.org, citing a statement by Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“I was pleased to speak with Andy Burnham and congratulate him on assuming the office of Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. I greatly appreciate that support for Ukraine and our people will remain strong,” the head of state noted.
The president thanked the British prime minister for his words of respect for Ukrainians, as well as for his condolences to the families and loved ones of those who died as a result of the recent Russian attacks.
“Ukraine and the UK have managed to build the strongest partnership in the history of relations between our countries, and we will certainly continue to work to ensure that it only grows,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
The head of state noted that he had agreed with Bernam on further cooperation—in particular, work within the framework of the Anti-Ballistic Missile Coalition—during a meeting “in the very near future.”
