Security Officials Announced The Uncovering Of A “large-scale Corruption Scheme”

44 people have been detained.
Officers from the Economic Crimes Division of the Minsk City Police Department detained 44 people as part of a large-scale corruption investigation, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
Those detained include officials from enterprises in the agro-industrial and fuel-energy sectors, as well as in housing and utilities, construction, transportation, education, and other industries. The detainees range in age from 31 to 65.
According to the investigation, the detainees received payments from bidders in exchange for guaranteeing the advancement of their commercial interests.
Specifically, they ensured that these participants were selected as suppliers of construction materials, electrical equipment, and spare parts, and they monitored timely payment for deliveries.
The total amount of bribes exceeded 750,000 rubles.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs identified the founder of several companies as the organizer of the scheme. According to the investigation, he developed a mechanism for distributing the payments, including a special formula for calculating the amounts of the bribes. His subordinates helped him deliver the bribes.
