Serena Williams: I See Myself In Sobolenko

The great American tennis player spoke out about the Belarusian player.

American Serena Williams, winner of 23 Grand Slam titles, spoke about the world’s No. 1 player, Belarusian tennis player Arina Sobolenko.

“Sobolenko is number one in the world. She’s a real force to be reckoned with who gives it her all on the court. I see myself in Arina, and I love that about her. When she loses, she gets angry. When I was playing, I wasn’t allowed to show my anger, but she is. And that’s cool,” Williams said at the Fanatics Fest, as noted by Championship.

Arina Sobolenko is spending her 101st week as the world’s No. 1 player. Serena Williams, for her part, spent 319 weeks at the top of the rankings.
