The ratio is approximately 1:14 in favor of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The Russian military’s casualties in the war are significantly higher than those of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Despite this, the exact figures remain unknown.
This was stated by Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy, according to Fox News.
An American journalist asked the head of state if he knew the approximate losses of the Russian occupation forces over the four years of full-scale war.
“Yes. Consequently, their losses total 1.6 million, of which about 700,000 were killed. Approximately,” Zelenskyy replied.
After that, the journalist asked whether the President of Ukraine could disclose the losses suffered by the Defense Forces.
According to Zelenskyy, this is very difficult to do.
“I’m sorry, but to be honest, I don’t want to be too candid on this issue, because the Russians will figure out what’s happening to our army. We have about 50,000 military personnel killed, as well as about 400,000 wounded,” the Ukrainian leader said.
In effect, Zelenskyy confirmed that Russia’s casualty toll is roughly 14 times higher than Ukraine’s.
He also added that there are a very large number of people missing in action.
