"Z-writer" Prilepin: Putin No Longer Controls The War
Zakhar Prilepin

Russia is paying a huge price.

Once a staunch supporter of the war against Ukraine, the well-known “Z-writer” Zakhar Prilepin has made a candid statement. He spoke about the terrible price that Russia and Ukraine are paying for the so-called “special military operation.” This was reported by Dialog.UA.

Prilepin stated that the war against Ukraine has already claimed the lives of millions of people and will soon rival the Great Patriotic War in terms of casualties.

“We are still paying that price (the price of war—ed.). A huge price! Just think about it for a second. We had the Great Patriotic War—a devastating one, (…) the ground was literally littered with corpses; we lost 5–6 million of our military personnel, and the rest of the dead were civilians. Now look at what’s happening now. I’ll round it off and say that Russia and Ukraine have lost 2 million people in this war. 2 million people! (…) And I assure you, if it continues for some time—and it will continue—we’ll reach that same level… Exactly the same thing is happening right now! Exactly the same! The same order of magnitude in numbers, the same scale of deaths—the same killing machine is at work,” Prilepin stated.

To soften the sharpness of his statements, the “Z-patriot” began claiming that Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin is allegedly not to blame for what is happening, because he no longer controls the war that he himself started.

“Of course, Vladimir Vladimirovich isn’t to blame for this, because it’s impossible to control! These are vast territories, and we don’t even know what’s happening in those cities… That’s the price. We don’t even understand it! Well, because it’s far away—just some reports here and there… But this is a pitch-black war, just pitch-black,” Prilepin stated.
