Ukrainian Armed Forces Counteroffensive: Fighting Rages For Two Settlements

There's some good news from Donbas.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue counteroffensive in the south of the country and have already reached the towns of Mirne and Komar in the Donetsk region. A French military analyst reported this on his account on X social media platformClément Molin, a French military analyst.

Molin believes that fighting with Russian occupiers is currently taking place on the outskirts of Komar. Earlier, Ukrainian troops crossed the Mokrye Yaly River to advance in two directions. According to the military analyst, Komar is located in the so-called “gray zone,” meaning neither side has firm control over it.

The town of Poddubne, north of Mirne, is, according to Molin, partially under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. All other settlements to the north are controlled by the Ukrainian army, while Voskresenka, south of Mirny, is disputed territory over which fighting is taking place with Russian occupiers.

As a reminder, in October 2025, the Ukrainian analytical project DeepState, affiliated with the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, reported that Russian troops had occupied Mirne and Komar. After that, the Russian occupiers attempted to create a “buffer zone” along the administrative border of the Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Donetsk regions, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces pushed them back during a counteroffensive that began in February 2026.
