Ukraine And Finland Are Launching Joint Production Of Weapons And Drones

Top executives from seven leading companies have already arrived in Kyiv.

Ukraine and Finland are launching a joint venture to produce military equipment and weapons. The countries will manufacture drones, build unmanned maritime systems, and establish a company to produce ground robots.

This was reported by the Office of the President of Ukraine.

The relevant memorandums of cooperation were signed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Finnish President Alexander Stubb during a roundtable discussion on defense cooperation.

The documents provide for:

- the development and manufacture in Finland of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for the needs of Ukraine and Europe;

- the development of capabilities in the field of unmanned maritime systems;

- the establishment of a joint venture to produce ground-based robotic systems (GRS).

In addition, the parties are finalizing the political work on the “Drone Deal” agreement and expanding cooperation in cyberspace and space.

Representatives from seven leading Finnish companies—Patria, Nokia, Insta, Boomeranger, Nest AI, Sensofusion, and ICEYE—arrived in Kyiv for the negotiations.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that the partnership between the two countries has already moved from agreements on paper to actual production.

“You have been with us from the very beginning of this war. And now that our military and defense sectors have grown, we can cooperate; we have begun joint production, and we have not just agreements, not just paperwork—we have real tools and we already have real results,” noted the President of Ukraine.

For his part, Alexander Stubb highlighted the mutual benefits of such cooperation in both the short and long term.

“Today, Ukraine ensures the security of all of Europe, and Ukraine’s capabilities to wage modern warfare are the best in Europe; therefore, cooperation between Ukraine and Finland will strengthen both countries,” said the President of Finland.
