Ukrainians have indicated which foreign leaders they view most favorably.
This is evidenced by data from a Rating Group survey.
Among the world leaders listed, Ukrainians view French President Emmanuel Macron (79%), German Chancellor Friedrich Merz (64%), and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan (61%).
Positive attitudes toward Polish Prime Minister Tusk outweigh negative ones (45% versus 35%).
Newly appointed British Prime Minister Andy Burnham: 45% positive, 7% negative. It is worth noting that one-third of Ukrainians responded that they did not know who Burnham was (35%), while 12% selected the “difficult to say” option.
Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar: opinions are fairly evenly split, with one-third (33%) of respondents holding a positive view and another third (34%) holding a negative view. Also, one in five respondents said they did not know who Magyar was, and 12% chose “hard to say.”
Polish President Karol Navrotsky: 20% view him positively, and 62% negatively.
16% of Ukrainians view U.S. President Donald Trump favorably, while 77% view him unfavorably.
Ukrainians have the most negative views toward dictators Vladimir Putin (97% negative) and Alexander Lukashenko (90%).
The survey was conducted August 4–9, 2026. A total of 2,000 respondents were interviewed. The sample is representative in terms of age, gender, and type of settlement (margin of error: no more than 2.2% with a 95% confidence level).
