Belarus Has Eliminated Export Duties On Liquefied Hydrocarbon Gases

The duties were imposed in April.

The Belarusian government has eliminated export duties on liquefied hydrocarbon gases (LHG), ethane, butane, and isobutane. Prime Minister Alexander Turchin signed the corresponding decree, the government press service reported.

The decree takes effect upon official publication and applies to transactions concluded on or after August 1, 2026, according to the announcement.

The Belarusian government imposed export duties on LPG, ethane, butane, and isobutane in April due to rising oil and gas prices amid the Middle East crisis. In early May, customs duties rose 25-fold overnight: to $131.6 per metric ton for LPG and $118.4 for the other three types of gas. On July 1, they were cut by nearly half—to $69.5 and $62.5 per metric ton, respectively.
