The European Union Has Expanded Sanctions Against Russia In Response To The Attacks On Ukraine

The EU will continue to exert pressure on Russia until it ceases hostilities.

European Union countries have decided to expand the sanctions list against Russia in response to the airstrikes on Ukraine. This was announced by the EU’s foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas on the social media platform X.

“The EU adopted new sanctions today, adding five individuals linked to the Russian military-industrial complex to the blacklist,” Kallas wrote. She did not specify exactly who was subject to the restrictions.

The diplomat accused Russia of attacking Ukraine’s civilian population. According to her, the EU will continue to exert pressure on the country until it ceases hostilities.

The day before, the United Kingdom expanded its sanctions against Russia. The list includes 12 companies, one individual, and six vessels. These include, in particular, Ozon Bank, Center-Invest, Realist Bank, Stavr Bank, and TelePort Bank.
