Lukashenko: Belarus Lacks A Communist System Of Governance

The dictator, who lives in the past, is "firmly convinced" of this.

Belarus lacks the kind of governance system that existed during the Soviet era. This view was expressed by Alexander Lukashenko during a working trip to the Vileika District, according to BelTA.

“I can’t say that the party (the Communist Party) played a decisive role in my life. We had everything we needed. But I must say—and this may sound unpopular to some of you, especially our youth—that it is precisely this system of governance, the one that once existed, that we lack today,” Lukashenko stated.

“That is why this is both a task and a matter of nostalgia. It is my firm conviction that we lack that system of governance,” he added.

“I feel this more than anything else. And anyone who cares about the state feels it. These feelings of mine aren’t just from today or yesterday,” said the usurper. “Having served as ‘president’ for so long, I feel more than anyone else that this system of state governance is missing. We lack serious personnel management. No matter how hard I try to establish a vertical chain of command and so on (which was, after all, the country’s salvation then and remains so now), the structure is still lacking,” the dictator noted.

“I suggest you think about this,” he said to the meeting participants. “I know you don’t want to. Why do you need these party bodies that will handle personnel matters, and the party bureau that you have to attend… You’re already ruling alone. But from a state perspective, the system will have to be built and fine-tuned,” Lukashenko concluded.
