A Russian Man Tried To Fly Out Of Minsk But Was Hit With A Huge Fine

A Russian man was fined 4,500 rubles while attempting to fly out of Minsk. The publication reports the details “Minskaya Pravda”.

In June 2026, a citizen of the Russian Federation intended to fly from Minsk to Baku. While going through check-in and security screening, he presented his passport to a border control officer. Experts determined that the passport was counterfeit. The man was detained by border service officers.

In court, the defendant stated that he intended to visit his family in Azerbaijan. He lives in Russia and has outstanding financial obligations. Because of this, he was unable to obtain a passport legally.

The foreign national then obtained a forged document and traveled to Belarus. He expected to fly from Minsk to Baku without any problems.

The foreign national’s actions were classified under Article 380 of the Criminal Code of Belarus. At the court hearing, he fully admitted his guilt.

The Oktyabrsky District Court of Minsk handed down a guilty verdict against the Russian national. He was sentenced to a fine of 100 base units, or 4,500 rubles (as of September 2026, one base unit equals 45 rubles).

To ensure compliance with the sentence, the Russian citizen’s property (cash, electronics, and items made of precious metals) was seized until the fine is paid in full.
