The White House press secretary responded.

If the Democratic Party wins the midterm elections, its representatives plan to launch a series of large-scale investigations into the activities of U.S. President Donald Trump.

This was reported by The Washington Post.

According to Congressman Robert Garcia, the potential scale of the violations may require the involvement of the entire Democratic caucus in the House of Representatives.

“There is so much corruption and fraud that the entire House Democratic caucus will be needed to properly conduct the investigations. We are discussing all these issues,” he said.

At the same time, some Democrats are urging their colleagues not to make premature statements about the possible outcomes of such investigations.

The White House has criticized these intentions and is preparing to oppose potential investigations. White House Press Secretary Olivia Wails stated that Trump’s opponents allegedly have no agenda of their own but merely seek to block his policies.

One area of scrutiny could be the administration’s mining and energy agreements. Congressman Jared Huffman believes these agreements may have benefited the president’s supporters and donors.

In particular, the WP reports on a $1.2 billion offer made by the Trump administration to a German energy company in exchange for waiving offshore wind leases. The company would have had to reinvest most of these funds into an LNG project in Louisiana owned by a Trump donor.

Congress also wants to review the decision to grant mass pardons to participants in the 2021 Capitol riot and the decision to resume operations of an oil pipeline in Southern California.

They may devote special attention to reforming the federal government. According to Democrats, personnel changes in the Trump administration are weakening government institutions. In particular, Congressman Jim Himes has alleged a purge of intelligence officials who disagreed with the president’s policies.

In addition, potential investigations may involve criminal cases that Democrats consider politically motivated. Among them are cases involving former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James.
