Russian dictator Vladimir Putin stated that Moscow is aware of alleged “violations of the rights of the Russian-speaking population in the Baltic states.” At the same time, he assured that “Russia is not preparing for military action against Europe.”

According to Putin, Moscow is aware of the situation regarding Russian speakers in the Baltic states and has allegedly already developed a strategy for responding to it.

“We know that the rights of the Russian-speaking population are being violated there, in the Baltic states. But we already know how to respond, and we have developed a specific approach to this. We are responding from a humanitarian perspective and in terms of international law,” the dictator stated.

He also commented separately on the tensions in relations between Russia and Europe. Putin called the EU countries’ statements about a threat from Russia a deliberate exaggeration and a provocation.

“I want to emphasize once again: we are not preparing for any military action against Europe. We have no such plans, and—most importantly—no grounds for them. There are no real motives for escalating the situation with Europe,” he said.

Russian provocations in Europe and the Baltic states

As is well known, since last year, Moscow’s drone provocations on the territory of NATO countries have become more aggressive. Following the mass incursion of Russian drones into Poland last year, the Kremlin has been periodically provoking NATO countries with drones; however, the Baltic states have been hit the hardest by this.

Also, Danish intelligence has warned: Russia intends to intensify its hybrid attacks on NATO.
