Russia Strikes Kyiv With Ballistic Missiles: What Is Known

Drones also attacked the Ukrainian capital overnight.

Russia, the aggressor nation, launched another ballistic missile strike on Kyiv on September 29. The Ukrainian capital was also attacked by jet drones during the night. Local authorities reported on the consequences of the enemy attack.

The Ukrainian Air Force issued an alert due to a missile threat at 2:15 a.m. Minsk time, reporting a high-speed target moving toward the capital. City residents were urged to take shelter. Shortly thereafter, a series of explosions rocked the city.

At 02:57 Minsk time, the Kyiv City Military Administration reported that the effects of the attack were observed in two locations in the Solomenskyi district: in one case, debris fell on open ground; in the other, a non-residential building was damaged. In addition, according to preliminary reports, a non-residential building caught fire in the Pecherskyi district. The Kyiv City Military Administration is verifying information about casualties.

At 3:02 a.m. Minsk time, the alert regarding the threat of ballistic weapons was lifted. However, at 4:39 a.m., a new air raid alert was issued—this time due to a drone threat.

It was later reported that a three-story non-residential building was damaged in the Pechersk District. In the Holosiivskyi district, a fire broke out on the roof of a five-story residential building after debris fell on it. In the Solomianskyi district, debris fell onto the grounds of a private home.
