A Checkpoint Is Under Construction On The Road Out Of Gomel

The site for the construction has been selected near the Ukrainian border.

Preparations to set up a fortified checkpoint have been observed at the southern exit from Gomel. This was reported by “Flagstok”. The publication notes that the site for the checkpoint has been chosen on the side facing the Ukrainian border.

Dozens of concrete foundation blocks and sandbags have appeared on the shoulder of Highway M-8 near the sign for the town of “Gomel.” A structure resembling anti-drone netting is being mounted on poles installed along the road.

As “Flagstok” notes, the placement of concrete blocks directly on the roadside may pose a danger to drivers: at night, accidentally veering off the roadway could lead to a serious accident.

According to “Flagstok,” the appearance of these fortifications may be related to the territorial defense exercises currently taking place in Gomel.
