Lavrov Declared The “start Of A Real War With Germany”

The reason: a Russian drone at Leipzig Airport.

Germany’s actions toward Russia following the discovery of a drone laden with explosives at the Leipzig airport can be considered the start of a “real war,” said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. “Leipzig, the airport… They found some drone there. They said it was a Russian drone; no one bothered to investigate. This is, in fact, by and large, the start of a real war,” the minister said in an interview with propagandist Pavel Zarubin (quoted by “Interfax”). In early August, several drones carrying explosives were discovered at the Leipzig/Halle Airport: one near a Ukrainian military transport aircraft, and the second not far from the airport.

German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt stated that the perpetrators of the “hybrid attack” were acting on behalf of Russian government agencies. Following this, German authorities decided to close the Russian Consulate General in Bonn and the Russian House in Berlin, as well as to tighten controls on Russians entering the country. Lavrov commented on these actions by Berlin: “I recall that before the start of World War II—the Great Patriotic War, to be precise—the Germans also closed their diplomatic missions.” The minister also stated that German Chancellor Friedrich Merz “is, well, essentially declaring war on us.”

“It turns out that these metastases of Nazism are beginning to resurface. This is a dangerous phenomenon. I believe the Russian leadership will draw the appropriate conclusions,” Lavrov emphasized.

Earlier, Dobrindt stated that German authorities are preparing a comprehensive plan to counter Russian hybrid attacks. According to him, the plan includes the rapid deployment of federal police special units tasked with countering drones in nine strategically important German cities. They will provide security for airports, train stations, the government district in Berlin, and other critical facilities, and will also be able to defuse UAVs carrying explosives.

There are also plans to grant critical infrastructure facilities the authority to neutralize drones on their own, expand the use of AI systems, and utilize facial recognition and video surveillance systems to detect malicious actors, weapons, and potentially dangerous behavior. In addition, a concept for creating a national “cyber dome” is being developed.
