2- 7.03.2008, 8:43
“European issue is topical for Belarus more than ever. Today more then a half of the Belarus’ population stand for Belarus’ joining the EU,” former political prisoner Artur Finkevich, Young Front activist, said in the interview to Radio Svaboda. Artur was invited to Prague for One World-2008, the 10th international documentary films festival.
Dear Charter 97,
ReplyThe actions and words of Artur Finkevich are truly an uplifting exemplification of his person. I believe the youth of Belarus are as equally educated as he and this in turn places their country on a solid youthful democratic foundation.
His hopes stand a chance, we in turn hope the present government of Belarus doesn't undermine their countries foundation of democracy beyound repair.
I thank you for printing these democratic visions of a young Belarusian.
Richard
I agree with Artur ... it is a small step for each citizen of Belarus,
Replywhen IT is done in the right moment. the decision to change
the system could be much easier than many people think.
Czech Republik is in my neighbourhood. When we go to there
on weekends with our children - for to discover the beauty of
his country, we are not controlled anymore, when we cross
the border.
Each time when I cross the border to Belarus - I remember,
how it was to enter Czech Republic, before the citizenen of
this country decided to trust their neighbours.
