Ihar Rynkevich: “Nobody from moderate oppositionists won’t get into the “chamber”

On September 21 at the session of the Political Council of oppositional parties one of the leaders of Belarusian Social Democrats, Alyaksandr Kazulin’s associate Ihar Rynkevich announced that allegedly the chairman of Minsk city executive committee Mikhail Paulau held a council dedicated to the topic of the elections. A task was set that 25-27% of voters should take part in the early voting.

Mr Rynkevich has also said that democratic candidates have almost no chances to get into the “chamber of representatives”.

“According to my knowledge, a so-called “Papkou’s list” had been created. Mr Papkou himself will be the speaker of the new “chamber”, and Mr Andrejchanka the vice speaker. They do not forecast that anybody from oppositionists would get into the “chamber”. There are 6 persons from the pro-regime Communist party, and a great part of candidates would run under a sign-plate of “Belaya Rus”, though it is not advertised”.

No one from the opposition, even those who like Mr Lyaukovich were rather tolerant to the regime, would get into the “chamber”. Thus, the campaign could be carried out by them without a hope that the regime would treat them kindly, and allow becoming a deputy of the “chamber” No.4 to them”.

Radio Svaboda reminds that Alyaksandr Papkou is a deputy head of the Presidential Administration, and Uladzimer Andrejchanka is the chairman of Vitsebsk regional executive committee.
