Lukashenka satisfied Uladzimir Sauchanka’s request to resign him from office.
Interfax learnt this from the press service of the Belarusian ruler.
“Uladzimir Sauchanka, the chairman of the Hrodna region executive committee, has sent a request for his resignation to the Head of State on the grounds of poor health and asked the President to transfer him to another job with a reduced workload. Alyaksandr Lukashenka has complied with the request and signed the related Decree,” a press service representative noted.
The chairman’s duties will be temporarily fulfilled by the first deputy chairman of the Hrodna region executive committee, Ivan Zhuk. The appointment of the new head of the Hrodna region will be made in due order in the near future.
Uladzimir Sauchanka has been head of the Hrodna region executive committee since March 29, 2001.
