Russian Channel One reminds Belarusian dictator about Bakiyev’s fate (Video)

Lukashenka’s latest statements were called “not a game but a hysterics attack” by the Russian Channel One.

The programme “Odnako” (translated as ‘however’) of the Channel One shown on July 1 told about the Belarusian-Russian relations. The programme is hosted by journalist Mikhail Leontyev known for his pro-Kremlin position. Here is the verbatim record of the programme:

“Hello, however!

Alyaksandr Lukashenka, being an experienced and, I dare to say, hard-core ruler, is preparing for the elections in advance. Let the gas dispute ended in stalemate. It couldn’t have ended in other way. This is not a reason to stop the far-reaching rhetoric. Mr Alyaksandr continues complaining about Russia. This time to the Americans.

“Moscow needs time to get used to a thought that Belarus is a sovereign and independent state,” Lukashenka told in an interview to CNN. “In other case, Russia risks to lose its closest ally, and it will be an irreparable loss.”

God sees, talking to Belarus as an independent and sovereign state is what Moscow is trying to do. But Lukashenka stubbornly continues to confuse definitions of an ally and a freeloader. This is not new. The new thing is that Lukashenka, who has always been considered to be a cruel and prudent player, now seems to be four-flushing not having any cards at all. It’s not a game. It’s a hysterics attack.

Mr grandmaster, the knight cannot move like that. This give birth to involuntary suspicion, maybe it is not a grandmaster?

“You should remember, we have lots of reliable friends. Besides Russia and the European Union, we have excellent relations with Venezuela, Iran, North African states, the Middle East, including Israel. Even the Americans invest in Belarus,” Lukashenka told CNN. “We have another very serious partner and great friends, the People's Republic of China.”

A friend in court is better than a penny in purse. A friend in need is friend indeed. Lord forbid, that it happens to Lukashenka to have his Chinese and Israeli, and moreover American investors in need! To be serious, stability of the Belarusian economy and the Belarusian political model depends on grants. It is Russian, not Chinese and Irani, grants are steady decrease and risk to come to zero soon. Lukashenka has always had an aim to preserve subsidies. But not at the cost of even a small restriction of his power. Because in other case, he needs to share grants.

“If you think Belarus will collapse without these so called Russian subsidies, you are wrong,” Lukashenka told CNN. “We stand normally on the ground.”

Not normally, not stand. That is the matter. Lukashenka has nothing to lose. It’s better to die standing than to die on your knees. Do you remember how Mr Alyaksandr saw his fate in the collapse of Kyrgyz Bakiyev? He said “the people will make a gross mistake if it betrays the president”.

Alyaksandr LUKASHENKA: “Some people can criticize me, others won’t criticize, but betrayal is the most disgraceful thing in the world.”

The question is who Mr Alyaksandr considers people and who don’t consider. I’d like to hear the whole list.

However, good bye!
