Leaders of Tell the Truth campaign to be tried on May 5?

Presidential candidate Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu stands trial in the court of the Frunzenski district of Minsk on May 5.

According to unofficial information, the case will be heard by judge Zhanna Zhukouskaya, “Belorusski Partizan” reports.

Uladzimir Nyaklayeu does not admit his guilt.

Six politicians (Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu, Vital Rymasheuski, Andrei Dzmitryeu, Syarhei Vaznyak, Alyaksandr Fyaduta, and Anastasia Palazhanka) are involved in the same criminal case. On March 30, 2011, the preliminary investigation department of the Main Police Directorate at the Minsk city executive committee brought new charges against Nyaklyaeu, Fyaduta, Vaznyak, Dzmitryeu, Rymasheuski, and Palazhanka under article 342 of the Criminal Code of Belarus (organizing or preparing the actions that breach public order, or taking active part in such actions). Their criminal cases were consolidated into a single proceeding, so they will stand trial together.

Syarhei Vaznyak, the only of the six “crime partners” who is charged under two criminal articles, does not know that the trial will take place in the Frunzenski district court. Syarhei Vaznyak is charged with violating article 342 of the Criminal Code (organizing or preparing the actions that breach public order, or taking active part in such actions) and with deliberately giving false evidence.
