Navapolatsk dweller beaten to death in police department?

His letter reads:

“A young man died in the intensive-care unit in Navapolatsk’s city hospital. He died of injuries he received from … police officers. Sorry, I cannot give you more detailed information (you probably can obtain it from you sources), but I think public should know about this case.

This man, 30 or 35, came home drunk two or three weeks ago. He was detained by police and taken to a sobering-up room. Policemen beat him brutally and he was taken to the intensive-care unit. I cannot say for sure, but it is said his internal organs were seriously damaged. He died on January 1 leaving a wife and a little son. Funerals were held on Tuesday.

He was not a drunkard or a sponger. He was an ordinary man, worked at a plant, had family. He was just a bit too drunk and that’s how it ended…”
