Russian President Dmitry Medvedev congratulated his Belarusian foil on the Day of the Russian and Belarusian Peoples’ Unity.

Meanwhile, the congratulations repeat Dmitry Medvedev’s congratulations to Viktor Yanukovych on Independence Day August 24, 2010 almost word for word.

“Our nations are connected by many ages’ long traditions of friendship and good neighbourly relations, common spiritual roots, glorious pages of common history. Relying upon this strong foundation of Russian-Belarusian union relations, we successfully develop mutually beneficial partnership, achieve palpable results in the trade and economic sphere, coordinate approaches on a wide range of issues of the regional and international agenda,” the address with congratulations reads as quoted by Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s press-service.

“Russia and Ukraine are tied with many ages’ long traditions good neighbourly relations, common spiritual roots, glorious pages of common history. Relying upon this good soil we successfully develop many-facet strategic partnership, brnig into line approaches in the framework of integration associations and multilateral organizations on a wide range of issues of the regional and international agenda,” Dmitry Medvedev wrote addressing Viktor Yanukovych.

As Telegraf reminds, Alyaksandr Lukashenka has congratulated citizens of Belarus and Russia on the Day of the Russian and Belarusian Peoples’ Unity. As said by him, the holiday “symbolizes unbreakable friendship and brotherhood of the nations” of the two countries. “Today we are made close by common history, culture, and which is the most important thing – the sincere aspiration for uniting efforts and capabilities for the end of sustainable social and economic progress of the two countries,” he noted.
