Jacek Saryusz-Wolski: Belarus' participation in Euronest is impossible yet

Member of European Parliament considers that it is too early to talk about the participation of the Belarusian authorities in Euronest.

"Current events in Belarus show that this prospect becomes less and less likely", -said the European Parliament deputy Jacek Saryusz-Wolski.

He admitted that it would also be early to say that today’s meeting moved Belarus closer to admission to Euronest as Belarusian authorities refused from the invitation on participation.

"Currently we know more about difficult situation in Belarusian society. Retaining of this issue is reflected in the agenda. We hope that some time members of Belarusian Parliament will occupy free places in Euronest»,- Volski said.

European Commission reports that the final purpose of the group is Belarus’s joining Euronest as full member. For this Belarus needs to hold free and fair elections, approved by international organizations (OSCE).
