Mikalai Statkevich Announces Plan Of February 17 Action

The march will start from the people’s assembly, which will adopt the demands to the authorities and establish the terms for the fulfillment thereof.

One of the leaders of the Belarusian opposition, presidential candidate at the election-2010 Mikalai Statkevich has written this on his Facebook page.

“The Belarusian National Congress decided to announce the plan for holding the Outraged Belarusians’ March, which would start at 6 p.m. on February 17 in the Kasrtrychnitskaya Square in Minsk.

The march will start from the people’s assembly, which will adopt the demands to the authorities and establish the terms for the fulfillment thereof.

The March will go along the chief avenue of Minsk to the office of the Ministry for Taxation and Dues, where the participants of the action will express their attitude towards the “social parasites” decree and decide what to do if the authorities fail to take a step towards the people’s demands.

The Belarusian National Congress underlines that this is a preliminary plan, which can be changed upon the demands of the participants of the March.”
