It's been a long time since there have been so many trials of famous people in one day.

December 30, Minsk courts try participants in peaceful protests against " deeper integration" with Russia. All of them are accused of "participation in public events," held on December 7 and 8, Radio Svaboda reports.

Leninski district court will try:

Andrei Kudzik, two protocols are drawn up against him;

Viktar Kovalkou (father Vikenti);

poet and politician Vladimir Neklyaev.

Tsentralny district court will try:

Andrei Sharenda, representative of the European Belarus civil campaign in Brest;

scientist and diplomat Piotr Sadouski;

Aliaksei Sudak.

Zavadski district court will try Valery Rabtseu.

The court of Leninski district postponed the trial of the writer Uladzimir Arlou, Barys Dubrouski, Natallia Ladutska, Anna Shaputska, Barys Anikeyeu and Dzmitry Kazlou to January 9 and 10. The reasons are the absence of the defendants or witnesses.

The Tsentralny Court postponed the trial of Piotr Sadouski to January 9. It turned out that the photo, attached to the police report, had a completely different person. The court session was stopped.

Human rights activists who follow the cases against the participants of the rallies expressed the view that Leninski court had received an order to delay these proceedings.

What are they tried for?

In December, Minsk held several protests against "integration". Some of the participants were charged with administrative cases for "violation of the order in an organization or holding mass events".

December 26 and 27, the protesters were fined Br16322 in total. Activists of European Belarus Jauhen Afnahel, Maksim Viniarski and Leanid Kulakou were sentenced to 5-15-day arrest.
