Information continues to come about heavy losses of the Russian army, which tried to organise an offensive on Avdiivka. Viktor Bazarkin, a Russian military officer from the 15th Separate Rifle Brigade, said on his page in the Vkontakte social network that his unit was ambushed by the AFU near Avdiivka and was defeated, reports dialog.ua.
Bazarkin admitted heavy losses a week after his battalion was defeated.
"Today is seven days since the ambush. May the guys rest in peace. 10.10.2023," he informed.
Answering a clarifying question from one of the subscribers, he said that the losses of the Russians were catastrophic. Only three of the battalion survived, the rest were killed or injured of varying degrees of severity. The commander of the Russian battalion was killed.
"Three from the battalion remained on their feet, the rest are the "200th" and "300th". The battalion commander is also a '200th'," he writes.
Usually, on average, a battalion in the Russian army can number up to 950 men, depending on the type of troops.
Despite the huge losses, the Russian army failed to achieve major successes near Avdiivka, military experts say.
