No News From Mikalai Statkevich For 254 Days

The politician’s wife spoke about the new crimes by the colony administration.

The leader of the Belarusian opposition, political prisoner Mikalai Statkevich, was subjected to disciplinary sanctions 9 times from May until recently.

The politician’s wife, Maryna Adamovich, reported on Facebook that her husband was placed in a punishment cell 5 times and was also deprived of parcels, packages and visits.

Maryna Adamovich posted on Facebook a photo of an excerpt of a letter, presumably from the authorities of the colony where Mikalai Statkevich is being held. The paper reads that for the period from May 10, 2023, disciplinary measures were imposed 9 times against Mikalai Statkevich for “failure to comply with the lawful orders of the facility administration.,” as well as for other “violations”.

The opposition politician was placed in a punishment cell 5 times. Last time on October 6. Mikalai Statkevich was also deprived of visits and the right to receive the parcels or packages. He has recently been given a reprimand.

Mikalai Statkevich was sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment in a maximum security prison. The politician has been behind bars for 3 years and 4 months.

Mikalai Statkevich’s family has not received any news and also letters from him for 254 days.
